Rochelle and the garden on 12-10-2005.

We built those beautiful boxes and filled them up with soil and our table scrap compost for the year. This whole area behind my house was one giant elephant ear. Those elephant ears are amazing. After we dug them all up, burned them, and sprayed them with holy water, they just keep on coming back. One came up all the way through the raised bed and popped its little head out. We're winning right now, but not by much.
The Lettuce Box

Growing here, from closest to farthest: Mesclun greens, Swiss chard, Manoa lettuce and a variety of peppers--habanero, bell, Waialua chiles, and others.

The peppers died a horrible death. From what, I do not know...

Also growing here are fresh dill and basil. Above: Our papaya plant. We grew this in a pot from a seedling and planted it down below in November.
