THE SET-UP

Distance Kicking, Match Play. Each competitor takes turns place kicking a kick-ball. The furthest kick wins the point.
NARRATIVE: By Champion Will

The first kick was a doozy! Jon floated a nice shot down the fairway 117 feet. I stepped up and plugged away, pulling hard right and coming up 12 feet short. A pitter-pat plunged in my heart and, I'll be honest, a little bit of fear set in.

On the next short, Jon shanked it left for 108 feet. I pulled my shot right, for 111 feet. There was some controvery in measurement, as Jon tried to save himself from almost certain defeat by alleging it was a tie. I paced over and it was clear my ball was a few feet further.
The Champion's Leer
Then came the last kick, a real beauty for 165 feet by me. Jon knew I had called him out and put him to task. His foot was strong but his aim was weak. Into the trees and I had a solid victory of 30 feet.

After the game, Jon began trying to sneak his way out of this humiliation. He began to challenge the second shot, begging for a tie. I was deeply insulted, watching Jon trying to weasel out of defeat. I started walking back to the field offering a do-over. Jon realized he was out of line and slunk away stating "I ain't gonna be no Roger Maris, with an asterisk beside my name." Like the truly great athlete he was, Jon admitted defeat but promised to return and fight another day, giving only this mere inch that was the place kicking contest to his opponent.
Jon, On His Second Approach, flailing his arms, Whiffs. AGAIN!
